Ronald Bruce Saunders of Raleigh passed away in his home on Monday, October 18, 2021, at the age of 61.
Bruce was born in Moore County on May 26, 1960, to Dewie and Patsy Pusser Saunders. He grew up in Moore County and graduated from Pinecrest High School. During his high school career, he became an Eagle Scout where he learned skills he would find useful throughout his life. After high school, he attended and graduate from N.C. State University with a degree in Horticulture. Following graduation, he moved permanently to Raleigh and began his career with Wake Med Hospital. In 1998, he began working and retired from Pope Landscaping and Irrigation.
To Bruce, his family meant everything. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman. From fishing to skiing, Bruce enjoyed them all. He was a very giving man. He was gentle and kind. Bruce was also outgoing and never met a stranger. Bruce's teams were the MN VIKINGS, the Baltimore Orioles, and NC State Wolf Pack! In his final days, he was surrounded by the ones he loved the most. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather.
He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Missie "Lou" Saunders of Raleigh; his daughters, Brandi Lowery of Raleigh, Jamie Lowery of Raleigh; his parents, Dewie and Pasty Saunders of West End; his brother, Ernest Saunders, and his wife, Lisa of Robbinsville, Steven Saunders of Pamplico, SC; his grandchildren, Ke'Shaun, Zyniyah, Qmare, Sequyah, and Jah'Siah; his nephews, Justin and Evan, and Brandon, Adrian; a great-niece and a host of many nieces and nephews.
