On April 9th Mary Bridget H. Wright of Pinehurst died of natural causes at Moore Regional Hospital.
She was the daughter of George Taylor Harrison and Mary McVeigh Harrison who immigrated from England to New Castle, DE with two of Mary’s siblings, Charlotte Harrison Schroeder and George Harrison. Mary and her brother, William Harrison, were born in Wilmington, DE.
She was 96 years old and was the last surviving member of the Harrison family. Mary was a graduate of Goldey- Beacom College and was a civilian secretary on a Wilmington Army base during WWII. There she met and married Gerald Monge Wright. She resided with her husband and five children in Newark, Delaware for over 40 years.
Mary was a fulltime homemaker, “home room mother”,secretary for the Fairfield Crest Civic Association and loving mother to five children. She loved to travel, was extremely well read and stayed abreast of happenings in the political, medical, and financial realms. Mary was preceded in life by her husband Gerald M. Wright and her eldest son Gerald Michael Wright Jr.
She is survived by her children Gregory M. Wright, Sandra Wright, Mary Lisa Wright-Drechsel and Adrian L. Wright. She has two grandsons Zachary W. Drechsel and Adrian Taylor Wright.
