Mark Nels Forsberg

Mark Nels Forsberg of Fayetteville, NC, passed away at his home on August 26, 2021, at the age of 57. Mark was born in Marquette, MI on March 5, 1964, to the late Carl and Gloria Forsberg of Newberry, Michigan.  After graduating from Newberry High School in 1982 he attended Suomi College in Hancock, MI for two years.  In 1986, he moved to Fayetteville, NC, to spread his wings and be near his brothers and their families.  Mark worked for Food Lion Distribution Center in Dunn, NC, for many years. Mark was a dedicated sports fan.  He loved Duke University basketball and was a shareholder in the Green Bay Packers.  He followed Pro hockey player, Peter Forsberg’s career.  When he could, he attended pro football and hockey games as well as minor league baseball games.  His knowledge of sports trivia was amazing, to say the least. Family was important to Mark.  He seldom missed a Christmas or Thanksgiving celebration.  He enjoyed his niece's and nephews' birthday celebrations as well.  Birthdays and anniversaries were remembered with a phone call, text, or Facebook message.  

He leaves behind his brother Carl “Jay” Forsberg and wife Dianne as well as brother John Forsberg and wife Cori; Aunt, Janet Havel of Big Bay, MI; two nieces; two nephews; three great-nephews; two great-nieces.

Cremation services were accorded.  A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment being at Forest Home Cemetery in Newberry, MI.

Care of the family is entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home-Aberdeen.
