Ashael Malloy

Ashael Malloy of Pinebluff passed away on March 28, 2024, in his home at the age of 71.

Ashael was born in the Bronx, NY, on October 4, 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents parents, Alice Core Malloy and Percy C. Gray, Jr. He was called to his heavenly home on March 28, 2024.

After graduating from Martin Van Buren High School in New York in 1971. Ashael then reported for basic training in Hamilton, New York. During service in the US Air Force, he received the Bronze Star and the National Defense Service Medal. He continued to serve his country in the US Army Reserves. Ashael retired as an accomplished Motorman for the New York Subway System.

Ashael enjoyed sports and robust discussions of history, politics, and jazz music. He was continually active throughout his life. After retirement, Ashael achieved a black belt in Karate. He taught youth Karate skills and included life lessons to help them become successful citizens. 

Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Ashael R. Malloy; sister, Fern McGuire, Patrice Gray; his brother, Percy Gray, Preston Gray, Patrick Gray, Pontrell Gray; his grandchildren, Ashael R. Malloy, Jr., Ameerah Malloy, Aslan Malloy, Atreyu Malloy, Avery Malloy; his aunt, Zelphia G. Watson; and a host of loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends.

A celebration to his memory will be held between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Crumpler Funeral Home-Aberdeen, 40229 US1 Hwy, Aberdeen, NC 28315
