Welcome to Our Funeral Home
Our Family Serving Yours

Friends, At Crumpler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, we have a strong commitment to the people of our community . . . to provide outstanding service with compassion, respect, and care. The days immediately following the death of a loved one can be a time of confusion and emotional stress. Important decisions must be made, and little time is available for reflection.Thank you for taking the time to consider our funeral home to service your family. Please allow me a moment to introduce myself. My name is Philip Holmes and I am a native of Raeford, NC. After going attending school in Wilmington, my wife and I decided to move back closer to our home counties of Hoke and Robeson. Since 2011, my wife and I decided to move to the Pinebluff area of Moore County, along with our two children, Evan, and Lera Dayne. Growing up in Raeford and being around my family’s business, you could say that I have been involved in funeral service all my life in some form or fashion. My grandparents, Frank & Dayne Crumpler opened up their first funeral home in Raeford in 1960. Since that time, my grandparents have acquired three additional locations serving families in Hoke, Robeson, Cumberland, and Moore Counties. Needless to say, I am proud of their accomplishments over the years. I have come to admire many qualities of my grandparents in my life; their love and faith in God as well as their work ethic and personal values. I am proud to say that since returning to the Sandhills, I am continuing my grandparent’s legacy, and have become the first third-generation funeral director in our family. Along with working at our other firms, I also serve as the manager of our funeral home in Aberdeen.I invite you to call any time I can be of help.

The Legacy

The Crumpler Legacy first began when Frank Crumpler of Sampson County always had a passion to be in funeral service. After graduating from the Cincinnati School of Embalming, he began working with Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. While working with Jernigan-Warren, he met Dayne Capps of Rockfish. They began their courtship and were eventually married. In 1960, Frank & Dayne opened up Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford, which serves as the main office to this day. Frank & Dayne's son, Kel Crumpler serves as the manager of the office. In 1992, Frank & Dayne were asked to become partners in LaFayette Funeral Home in Fayetteville. It was not until 2011 that the Crumpler Family took complete ownership of the business. Since taking full ownership of the business and the property surrounding the business, the Crumpler Family remodeled the funeral home to a more modern professional building. Pictures of the inside of the funeral home have been featured in funeral-related magazines. Rick Wilhide, the husband of Frank & Dayne's daughter, Kalen Crumpler Wilhide, manages the LaFayette Funeral Home in Fayetteville. In 1997 an opportunity arose for Frank & Dayne to purchase an existing funeral home in Red Springs. After purchasing the property, he began reconstructing the building into a beautiful establishment. After becoming licensed, Frank & Dayne's youngest child, Kalen Crumpler Wilhide manages the office in Red Springs along with her husband, Rick. In 2006, Frank & Dayne purchased an old home place with 10 acres of land on Highway 1 in Aberdeen, just north of Pinebluff, and completely remodeled the house into an elegant funeral establishment. In 2011, Frank & Dayne's grandson, Philip Holmes began his apprenticeship and his education in funeral service. Philip and his wife, Amy currently reside in Pinebluff. As the only grandchild being licensed in funeral directing, and continuing the family's legacy as the third generation funeral director, he serves as the manager of Crumpler Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
